SOS Rape Crisis is staffed by a small team of part-time and full-time workers.
The organisation welcomes volunteers into the service to help with a range of roles that support and enable the progression of the services for survivors. We welcome applications for volunteer roles from a variety of applicants offering a wealth of experiences, skills, cultures and knowledge.
The current volunteer roles that SOS Rape Crisis offer include:
- Sexual Violence Counsellors
- Information & Support Telephone Help Line Operators.
- Young Person’s Group Facilitator
- SOS Friends – Fund Raising Group.

Current Volunteer Opportunity
To co-facilitate advisory sessions in schools across Southend for young people (aged 11-18) in raising awareness of the effects of sexual violence. Sessions will be interactive and focus on the young person’s responses with primary learning outcomes to dispel myths related to sexual violence and abuse.
