SOS Rape Crisis is a local charity that is dedicated to supporting women and
young people who have survived of sexual violence in our communities.
The local charity provides confidential and non-judgemental support for
survivors of any form of sexual abuse that has occurred at any time in their
lives – whether it has occurred recently, a long time ago or is still happening.
SOS Rape Crisis supports survivors who live in the area of Southend-on-Sea,
Castle Point and Rochford.
SOS Rape Crisis are looking to recruit a Child and Family Support Worker to provide specialist support to survivors of sexual violence through therapeutic face to face work.
Job Role: Child and Family Support Worker
Hours: Part Time arrangement at 21 hours per week (flexible to meet the needs of the service)
Salary: £26,293 per annum pro rata
Qualifications: A recognised qualification in counselling.
Experience of and currently working in therapeutic practice with children
Responsibilities: To provide support to children aged 0-11 years and their carers, who have experienced, or are at risk of sexual violence, including working with children who self-harm. To run emotional support programmes within educational settings including children centres, and work with agencies involved with children to provide a holistic network of support.
